Ospedaletti boasts the mildest climate in the Italian Riviera (the Riviera of Flowers) both on the eastern and western sides. This is thanks to the surrounding hills which act as a barrier to the cold winds which blow down from the north. The climate therefore is particularly temperate. Summer is never too hot and winter is very mild.

The average temperature for the winter months is 14° centigrade and 24° in the summer months. The average number of sunny days in the year is 280.
In 1860, the exceptional climate of Ospedaletti was noted by a certain Dr. Kettel who wrote a letter to the Russian empress, Maria Alessandrovna in which he said that this area “is determined to defeat winter forever”.
